Today has been an exciting day….i received a very special email from NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers) announcing
“Congratulations on your recent recognition in the NAPCP 2010 1st Half Image Competition. You are now officially a NAPCP Award Winning Photographer!”
How exciting! This is thrilling news and I feel very honored to have received recognition for my work. I especially want to thank all of the families I photograph and for trusting in me when I suggest ideas and locations for our photo sessions.

“Shawna Schaub of Indianapolis & Culver, Indiana has earned special recognition in the first international image competition of The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP). Uniquely focused on world’s most successful child photographers, the inaugural NAPCP Image Competition featured a range of image categories, including humor, connection, celebration, innocence, and joy. Shawna Schaub’s “Cupcake” was awarded top honors in the Celebration category. She was also awarded Recognition of Merit in the Connection category for her piece “Knee High by 4th of July”.”
This image was taken at a first birthday photo session at The Flying Cupcake. This is Lizzie, the older sister & she was partaking in the fun as well.

This was a very special photo session. I had just completed photographing Makayla’s growing year and her younger brother was on the way. Even though I titled this “Knee High by the 4th of July” I was quickly corrected by their dad that that was a ‘city saying’
. Ha! I still love this image and the energy of fun the family is having together.

If you have not voted for the Indianpaolis A-list, I would really appreciate your vote:

{stunning sisters} <3

so sweet !!!

awh…loves me some lovin’

Izzy is a senior this year, so at the end of the session, we had a little fun taking some head shots. I love how she looks so different in many of these, she is so pretty.

Ahh yes, time for some senior photos… Where has summer gone? I can’t believe school is back in session for so many already. I was really excited when Adam asked me to take his senior photos & especially in Culver. He was a sailing instructor at Culver Upper Camp all summer, so we met one evening during camp to take his photos & I must say, that we completely lucked out on the images of him in his Culver uniform. Since camp was in session, there was a group getting ready to go on the Ledbetter for a sail & we happened to slip on for a few moments prior to the sail, so that could not have been planned better…needles to say, I’ve been dying to photograph someone in their whites upon the 3-masted schooner & this session was absolutely a ball to do that. I think Adam was laughing harder at me saying “this rocks! this is AWESOME!!” the whole time we were on the vessel
Enjoy the sneak peeks…let’s begin with some a little more casual..I love that rotten door on an old abandon school house.

I was like a kid in a candy store…”look, the ledbetter is at the pier! can we get on? Let’s run!!!” If you are familiar with Culver, this 3-masted schooner is typically anchored off a buoy in the middle of the lake with no way to get on board.

These images are going to be pretty special for Adam…not everyone can have this opportunity…

This session was especially special to me. I scoped out this location last winter and knew I absolutely wanted to do a photo session here. The {B} family was gracious enough to appease me and they look absolutely fabulous.
Enjoy the sneak peeks.

This image was taken for a canvas

meet the grandkids…

siblings with Dad!

Grammy with the girls…

Cooper & Cole love spending their summer vacation at Lake Maxinkuckee. I think I mentioned on my FB wall after photographing these two 14 year olds that 14 year olds would much rather be kissed in public by their mom then get their photos taken…so needless to say, we found ways to have fun with the session
….
Without further ado…here they are…meet Cooper & Cole & enjoy the sneak peeks!!!!

i love this series with their wakeboard! totally sums up their summer fun!
